Wear Checking Gauge

A Wear Checking Gauge is a precision inspection tool used to determine the amount of wear that has occurred on a component’s functional surfaces—especially in splines, gears, or other mating profiles—by comparing the part to the original design dimensions. It’s essentially a GO/NO-GO or comparative gauge made specifically to measure loss of material due to use, abrasion, or deformation.

To quantify wear in service-used components. To decide whether a part is still within allowable limits or needs replacement. To ensure worn parts don’t cause malfunction, misfit, or failure in an assembly.
